May 2016 Meeting

Where: FAMiLab, 1355 Bennett Dr., Longwood, FL

When: Tuesday, May 31st 2016 @ 7:30pm

What: General Meeting, Lockpicking, Art of Exploitation Workshop #1 (Kickoff & 0x100)

We’re going to give Art of Exploitation a shot as a continuing workshop. Essentially we’ll expect everyone to have read through and worked through a chapter each month. For the first meeting we’ll just be going over chapter 0x100 which is the introduction. If this sucks, we’ll quit doing it. If you like the workshop, that’s great — we’ll keep it running. The table of contents is available here: https://www.tinker.tv/download/hacking2e_toc.pdf

If you can’t afford the book and still want to follow along definitely check your local library, contact No Starch Press (there’s usually coupons), or ask around — someone is bound to have a spare. Many of us picked up the PDF during the Hacking Humble Bundle and may also own the hardcopy.

If anyone would like to give a talk at a meeting please reach out to me at abyssknight {at} dc407 {dot} com. We have a few people in the queue and we’re working out logistics, but more to come on that next month.

Slides for this meeting are available at: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1PzWefAuMYwxAvQkdfS6uWIwVkEJ1d8jHA8motj6VcfI/edit?usp=sharing

If you are participating in the Art of Exploitation workshop please work through 0x200 & 0x300 by next month.

September 2015 Meeting

Been awhile since we had an official DC407 meeting, but there’s been a lot of interest lately in both the DCG and starting a TOOOL chapter. Join us at 8:30 at FamiLAB on September 29th for DC407, and 8:00pm for the lockpicking group. Please note that FamiLAB has moved down to unit 105 in the same warehouse complex. If you have trouble getting in either ring the doorbell or shoot me a message on the FamiLAB Slack.

Thanks,

~willa

June Meeting

The next meeting will be on June 27th, 2014 at 8pm in the FamiLAB Meeting Room. We will be making throwing star LAN taps. To participate in the discussion about what to talk about head over to the google group.

There will be a small number (10-15) of kits available for purchase on a first come, first serve basis. Kits will be sold at cost at $15 each. We’ll have soldering irons, solder, and snips available so just bring yourself, and you should be good to build the kit. If you want to test your kit, bring your machine, a couple network cables, and a spare NIC (one for TX, one for RX). Soldering experience is recommended, but these are pretty good kits to learn on, too.
